Easter is the day we celebrate every year by wearing new clothes, attending church service, taking part in the communion. Then we get back come back home, feast and proceed with our day to day activities. Have we ever thought what the resurrection of Christ mean to us? Has Christ really risen in our lives? For Christ to arise in our lives, we have to dismantle the old man in us and meet the risen Christ who makes everything new. The resurrection of Jesus brings newness to our lives. His Resurrection is Glorious. Romans 4:25 says, “He was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.” Risen Life is not a doctrine or a theoretical abstract. It is absolutely practical. If Christ is not risen in our life, it is empty and hopeless.
In order to live a resurrected life, we need to be willing to sacrifice our selfish desires and plans that conflict with God’s purposes for our lives. We need crucify our selfish attitudes so that God will raise us to a new life. When Jesus was incarnated, every part of Him was put to death. At His resurrection, we were given a new life and were made free from the laws of death and sin. The resurrected life would change everything in us. It would change our relationship with God, with one another, and with the world around us. Our lives would make a difference – a dramatic difference – to the people around us. A Christian life is a new life because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Resurrected Life gives us a purpose to live for, people to live with, principles to live, and the power to live on. He gave new hope and meaning to our lives the moment we trusted in Him. We contributed nothing to receive it. Christ has done it all. He didn’t force us to believe on Him. Any life that is not transformed by the resurrection of Jesus is out of touch with reality. Luke 24:34 says, “The Lord is risen indeed” Jesus is Risen! Let us renew our lives in the resurrection of Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” Today, begin a new life in the risen Christ.
